The Indiana State Fair Young Hoosier State Piano Competition (YHPC)
The Young Hoosier State Piano Competition is open to all pianists ages five to 22 who are Indiana residents. The Competition accepts and encourages all levels of piano performance—with seven separate age divisions—and all styles of piano music—competitors can select from multiple music categories, including Original Composition. Visit our Piano Solutions YouTube channel for more videos from the 2019 competition.
Governor Holcomb has detailed the state’s plans for a roadmap to reopening the Indiana economy as the COVID-19 pandemic continues with five stages leading to an anticipated full reopening by July 4. Knowing that these guidelines will eliminate preliminaries in June, the 2020 Piano Competition has been canceled for this year’s Indiana State Fair. We plan to enthusiastically welcome you back in 2021 and wish you the best as we navigate the weeks and months ahead.
