The Indiana State Fair Young Hoosier State Piano & Violin Competitions experienced record participation with nearly 700 young performers from throughout Indiana taking part in this year's event. The competition continues to be successful in large part due to the support of local colleges & universities, the Indiana State Fair Board, Home & Family Arts Building staff, and the adjudicators who give so generously of their time. A special recognition was awarded to adjudicator Dr. Reginald Rodgers of Anderson University, who has judged for the competition for the past 15 years.

The open stage in the Home & Family Arts Building hosted performances from both finalists and non-finalists and continues to be a highlight for both building visitors and performers alike. Additionally, a special award for participating in the competition for five+ years was awarded to close to 100 participants. It's extremely rewarding to see these young competitors continue to grow in their musical passion and performance.
